Targeted and Expanded Free School Meals

Oxford Grove want to make sure that all eligible children and families are able to access the support available to them through free school meals.
What are free school meals?
Free school meals provide eligible children with a nutritious meal during the school day, at no cost to their family. They can also help schools provide additional support and funding to improve opportunities for pupils.
Targeted Free School Meals
Targeted free school meals are available to children whose families meet specific eligibility criteria, usually based on household income and certain benefits.
If your child is eligible, they may receive a free school meal each school day. Applying can also help the school receive additional funding to support pupils and families.
Expanded Free School Meals
The Government is expanding access to free school meals so that more children can benefit from a free, healthy meal at school.
The expanded provision will apply to eligible pupils in families receiving Universal Credit, subject to the relevant income criteria and implementation arrangements.
If you think your child may be eligible, we encourage you to apply. Even if your child is already receiving a free school meal, please check that your details are up to date.
How can I apply?
If you think your child may be eligible for free school meals, please contact the school office or complete the attached eligibility checker either on line or bring in to the school office.
If you are unsure whether you qualify, please apply anyway. The eligibility check will confirm whether your child can receive free school meals.
If you need help completing an application, please speak to a member of the school office team. We will be happy to support you.
