Our leadership roles allow our children to take the lead with a responsibility for different aspects of school life.
School Council
Responsibilities:
* Leading class councils and discussing any issues within school
* Meeting with Mr Kelly and Miss Harvey to discuss issues raised through class councils
* Identifying and implementing solutions

Language Ambassadors
Responsibilities:
* Supporting new internationally arrived children in school.
*Speaking to the new parents about how they can support their children at home.
*Helping new children to adjust to life at Oxford Grove.
*Create a safe environment for the newly arrived children who can learn English in a faster way.
*Providing all children with a ‘voice’
Reading Buddies
Responsiblities:
* Reading buddies support children across Key Stage 1 to read
* Our confident and fluent readers read with their buddy throughout the week
* Reading buddies help others to read tricky words whilst modelling good reading strategies to support fluency and independent reading
* This leadership committee act as good role models for our younger pupils
* During their 1:1 reading sessions, reading buddies also ask questions and sign the reading records of our younger pupils
Times Table Tutors
Responsibilities:
* Supporting peers in learning times tables facts
* Providing support with quick recall of times tables facts
* Assessing knowledge and recall of facts and giving rewards
Digital Leaders
Responsibilities:
* Completing Online Safety challenges and using these to teach all children in school how to keep safe online
* Supporting with Computing, technology and Online Safety within school and the community
* Supporting Mrs Thompson, children and staff with technology in school
Wellbeing Champions
Responsibilities:
* Support the wellbeing of themselves and their peers
* To be a friendly face for other children to talk to
* To be someone who will always help others
Breakfast Club Monitors
Attendance Monitors
Responsibilities:
* Supporting Mrs Sharples in attendance assemblies
* Updating attendance records on class doors with percentages and stars
* Reviewing attendance rewards with class teachers and Mrs Sharples
School Sports Crew
Responsibilities:
* Supporting PE and healthy lifestyles across the whole school.
*Organising and arranging school sports competitions.
*Supporting ‘Sports Assemblies’ across the whole school.
*Leading school sports crew assemblies to keep pupils up to date and encourage healthy lifestyles.
*Demonstrating to all children how to correctly and safely carry out different sports.
*Providing all children with a ‘voice’ linked to P.E provision offered.
Eco Committee
Responsibilities:
* Leading eco-projects within school
* Working with Miss Turner and all the teachers to help save energy during the school day
* Working with children to help save paper during the school day
* Helping to water and care for the plants in the Foundation Stage garden.
* Sharing knowledge with others about looking after the world around us and every person, plant or animal that lives in it.
Art Council
Responsibilities:
* Supporting Miss Bimson to arrange new art workshops
* Creating model examples of Artwork to support teachers and children
* Tidying and organising the Art resources
* Gaining feedback from Art workshops and Gallery trips
* Supporting with the Artsmark Award
OG Historians
Responsibilities:
* Helping Miss Jarvis with assemblies on important historical days.
* Setting up/deciding on competitions/projects.
* Checking history displays have all the requirements
* Helping children with their history learning
*Checking the artefacts and resources are correct for each topic
*Promote the love of learning for History
*Checking the History texts in each year group
OG Geographers
Responsibilities:
* Supporting with our Geography learning
* Helping Miss King with important Geography jobs.
* Checking that our school’s Geography displays have all the relevant information
* Promoting a love of Geography throughout our school
Super Scientists
Responsibilities:
* Promoting a love of Science throughout our school
* Supporting with our Science learning
* Helping Miss Nixon with important Science jobs.
* Making sure that our science displays show the correct information and are useful for our learning.
* To help other children learn the child friendly versions of the 5 enquiry type
Music Ambassadors
Responsibilities:
* Help with assemblies and performances
* Promote music assemblies
* Assist with organisation of music resources
* Promote a love of music throughout the school
* Support Miss Cowell to organise music trips and outside performance opportunities.
Oxford Grove Play Pals
Responsibilities:
* Helping outside on the yard
* Helping in the hall with healthy school lunches
* Demonstrating new games on the yard for others to play
* Leading whole school assemblies all about the importance of a healthy diet
* Organising after school clubs dedicated to games that can be taught on the yard
OG Designers
Responsiblities:
* Support Miss Simpson with D&T RRR assemblies
* Support class teachers with the safety rules for equipment
* Help to organise and promote D&T competitions
* Choose winners for D&T competitions
* Check that teachers have the correct resources
* Remind their class of the purpose and intended audience for each project
* Be creative and share their ideas with their class for D&T topics
