      Mrs Thomas is the Chair of Governors, a post she has held since 1995, as well as Chair of the Personnel Committee and has special responsibility for Looked After Children and Special Educational Needs. For her “day job” Mrs Thomas has served as Councillor for Halliwell area and is also Deputy Leader of the Council with Executive responsibility for all local schools. Prior to that, she ran a playgroup which gave her a passion for early years education. As she represents the area, Mrs Thomas wanted to take a Governor role at school to ensure we always have excellent education facilities.

      Mrs Bainbridge-Daniel has served as a Governor for 11 years and is Link Governor with special responsibility for training, as well as being Vice-Chair and serving on all the various Committees. She took the role to be involved in the way the school is run and to be able to support the school and the local community. Away from school, Mrs Bainbridge-Daniel is a Manager at a homecare company, caring for old people in the community.

      Mrs Wood has served as a Governor for 4 years and is a Partnership Governor, being the link between the Governors and the Local Authority. She also serves on the Curriculum, Standards, Safeguarding, Finance and Personnel sub-Committees. With a background as a Primary school Teacher, Mrs Wood wanted to become a Governor so that she could give something back to the teaching profession.

      Mr Hesford spent his whole career as a teacher, with 22 years as a Head Teacher at a local primary school. When he retired 10 years ago, his ex-Deputy Head, Paul Kelly, invited him to be a Governor at Oxford Grove. Mr Hesford was happy to accept so that he could give something back to the community. He serves as the Chair of Finance, Standards and Curriculum as well as having special responsibility for Health and Safety.

      Mrs Worsley has served as a Governor at school for 23 years, with special responsibilities for Music and Personnel, and says she still loves the role! When she retired from her job as a peripatetic teacher in the Bolton area, she wanted to use her experience and interest in music and, as she knew Paul Kelly, coming to Oxford Grove seemed the right thing to do.

      Miss Harvey is in her fourth year as Head teacher. Since January 2001 she has played a key role in the leadership and management of the school, holding the posts of Assistant Head teacher and Deputy Head teacher before becoming Head teacher in September 2013. She is dedicated to consistently providing the pupils of Oxford Grove with the first class education they deserve.

      Mrs. Ainscough has worked at Oxford Grove since 2002 when she joined the school as a Reception Class teacher, initially for one term. Since then she has worked extremely hard to become a key member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team, becoming Assistant Headteacher in September 2016. She now manages the Foundation Stage Unit, ensuring provision for our youngest pupils is of the highest quality, and co-ordinates the school’s response to special educational needs and pupils with English as an additional language.

      Mrs. Bain joined Oxford Grove in 2002 and has since taught classes throughout Key Stage 2. As a skilled leader of English and expert classroom practioner she is now dedicated to improving science provision across the school as well as adding her vast wealth of experience to the Senior Leadership Team, developing curriculum provision and helping to drive school improvement in a number of key areas

      Mrs. Moore is one of the longest serving members of the school’s hugely effective Higher Level Teaching Assistant team. Having joined the school in 2003 she has worked very hard to become a valued member of the staff team, teaching classes, co-ordinating playtime provision across the school and plays a leading role in coordinating the high quality Breakfast Club provision throughout the school.
