Reading Competitions

  • Oxford Grove hold a range of competitions throughout the year aimed at promoting reading for pleasure.
  • Readathon

We held a Readathon competition, where every child in the school was challenged to read as many books as possible!

Well done to all our winners – we raised £740 of money for the Read for Good charity, which buys clean, germ-free books for poorly children in hospital.

  • World Book Day

In Spring term 1, every child in school had the chance to write a high quality book review to enter a World Book Day competition.

There were 30 winners throughout the school, who won the opportunity to go on a trip to Bolton Central Library on World Book Day.

They enjoyed a fun filled afternoon, with lots of stories, book activities and even a red carpet cat walk to show off their amazing costumes!

  • Extreme Reading

Over the Summer holidays we launched a competition to look at the most exciting places where you liked to read!
